Book Giving Day

Book Giving Day

International Book Giving Day takes place all over the world and its mission, as the name suggests, is to give a book. The event is aimed mainly at children and is intended to develop children's interest in books. For the first time this day took place in 2012 and since then it has been held regularly every year.

Celebrate International Book Giving Day by giving a book to a child in your area. You can donate books to various places such as book boxes, children's homes, hospitals, low-threshold facilities, or libraries. There are no rules on where or to whom you can give a book. You can donate new or used books. Find places to donate books on the map at www.KAMsNIM.cz. Other ways to actively participate in International Book Giving Day include letting a child discover a book, connecting with others on social media using the hashtag #bookgivingday, downloading and printing bookmarks or labels to attach to the books you donate, sharing photos of your book giving activities on social media, and inviting your community to celebrate International Book Giving Day. The day is celebrated in over 44 countries, including the Czech Republic, Australia, Canada, France, India, Japan, New Zealand, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Support the work of charitable organizations that distribute books to children throughout the year. Visit https://bookgivingday.com for more information.
