Hlavním cílem kampaně je přiblížit veřejnosti důvody proč je dobré a logické kupovat biopotraviny a podporovat tím ekologické zemědělství v ČR a rovněž ukázat kde si biopotraviny mohou koupit. V průběhu září se uskuteční řada regionálních akcí na podporu biopotravin a ekologického zemědělství, jako jsou biojarmarky, biodožínky, dny otevřených vrátek na biofarmách a exkurze do výroby. Veřejnost tak může navštívit české ekofarmy, ochutnat biopotraviny přímo ze dvora a seznámit se s principy ekologické produkce. V rámci kampaně se také vyhlašuje soutěž Česká biopotravina. Biopotraviny poznáte podle zelené biozebry státní značky, která zaručuje splnění požadavků legislativy ekologické produkce. Od 1. července 2010 platí pro všechny výrobce biopotravin v Evropské unii povinnost používat na biopotravinách jednotné označení logem Evropské unie pro ekologickou produkci. Die Studie der Primaten wird als Primatologie bezeichnet. Mezinárodní den povědomí o supech je akce, která se koná první sobotu v září a má za cíl zvýšit povědomí o supích ptácích. Tato akce začala v roce 2009 a od té doby se rozšířila po celém světě. Během tohoto dne se konají různé akce v zoologických zahradách a organizacích pro divokou zvěř, kde se veřejnost může dozvědět více o supech a někdy se dokonce přiblížit k těmto ptákům. Due to their scavenging nature, many people misunderstand the beautiful and important birds known as vultures, many species of which are endangered or threatened. International Vulture Awareness Day, which aims to raise awareness about all vulture species, began in 2009 through a collaboration between the Birds of Prey program in South Africa and the Hawk Conservatory Trust in the United Kingdom. Es ist dringend erforderlich, das Bewusstsein der Öffentlichkeit weltweit für die Situation dieser bedrohten Vögel und die Notwendigkeit des Schutzes und der Erforschung von Küstenvögeln zu erhöhen. Gesunde Populationen von Küstenvögeln hängen von gesunden Lebensräumen ab. Die Zerstörung von Lebensräumen, das Töten von Zugvögeln, globale Klimaprobleme, Unwissenheit der Öffentlichkeit und viele andere Faktoren führen zu rückläufigen Trends bei den meisten Küstenvogelpopulationen. Es ist mehr denn je dringend erforderlich, weltweit Maßnahmen zu ergreifen, um Menschen und Küstenvögel miteinander zu verbinden. Der World Shorebirds Day wurde mit folgenden Zielen ins Leben gerufen: das Bewusstsein für die Notwendigkeit des Schutzes von Küstenvögeln und ihren Lebensräumen während ihres Lebenszyklus zu erhöhen, das Bewusstsein der Öffentlichkeit für die Notwendigkeit fortlaufender Forschung, Überwachung und Schutz von Küstenvögeln zu erhöhen und Menschen mit Küstenvögeln durch Feuchtgebiete auf der ganzen Welt zu verbinden. Es geht darum, das Bewusstsein für die Bedeutung sauberer Luft für Gesundheit, Produktivität, Wirtschaft und Umwelt zu erhöhen, den engen Zusammenhang zwischen Luftqualität und anderen Umwelt- und Entwicklungsproblemen wie dem Klimawandel aufzuzeigen, Lösungen zu fördern, die die Luftqualität verbessern, indem sie nutzbares Wissen, bewährte Verfahren, Innovationen und erfolgreiche Beispiele teilen, und verschiedene Akteure für gemeinsame nationale, regionale und internationale Ansätze zur effektiven Luftqualitätssteuerung zu verbinden.

Der diesjährige Schirmherr des Internationalen Tages für saubere Luft unter blauem Himmel ist das Unternehmen DPD, Teil des größten Paketversandsystems in Europa, Geopost. Der Grund, warum DPD Schirmherr geworden ist, ist seine langjährige und intensive Arbeit für eine bessere Umwelt, insbesondere durch kohlenstoffneutrale Transporte. Bis 2025 werden in Prag und Ostrava alle DPD-Fahrzeuge nur noch emissionsarm sein und durch Fahrrad- und Fußkurier ergänzt werden. Das Unternehmen ist auch der erste globale Transporteur mit wissenschaftlich bestätigten Emissionsreduktionszielen von der führenden unabhängigen wissenschaftlichen Plattform SBTi.

Wir sind sehr froh, dass wir Schirmherr dieses Tages geworden sind, denn die Verbesserung der Luftqualität ist eine unserer Hauptprioritäten. It also aims to show the close connection between air quality and other environmental and development challenges, such as climate change. The day supports solutions that improve air quality through the sharing of knowledge, best practices, innovations, and successful examples. It brings together various stakeholders for effective air quality management at national, regional, and international levels.

The company DPD, part of the largest parcel delivery network in Europe, Geopost, has become the patron of this year's International Day of Clean Air for blue skies. DPD has been recognized for its long-term and intensive work on environmental improvement, particularly through carbon-neutral transport. By 2025, all DPD vehicles in Prague and Ostrava will be low-emission, supplemented by cycling and walking couriers. DPD is also the first global carrier with scientifically confirmed emission reduction targets from the leading independent scientific platform SBTi.

DPD is pleased to be the patron of this day as improving air quality is one of its main priorities. The company has been working on making its transport as environmentally friendly as possible, not just in terms of media coverage. DPD also aims to educate the public and is part of its communication strategy to raise awareness about greenwashing and help people recognize it. DPD is open to collaboration with other companies and municipalities.

The project of measuring air quality is directly related to improving air quality. For over 2 years, 90 DPD delivery vans with special monitoring devices have been driving through Prague every day. Every Prague resident can check the air quality on different streets on a dedicated website. The devices are also installed on several dozen buildings. The project has been recognized in a sustainability ranking.

In addition to its long-term collaboration with the volunteer action "Clean Czechia," where DPD is the main transportation partner, DPD has also become the patron of the International Day of Clean Air as part of their new project, EKOkalendar.cz. Their air monitoring web application is a great example of how even large companies can actively contribute to environmental protection and corporate social responsibility.

Apart from the International Day of Clean Air, the EKOkalendar by the organization "Clean Czechia" includes more than 230 other environmental days and holidays, along with detailed information about them. Cieľom Medzinárodného dňa čistého ovzdušia je zvýšiť povedomie o význame čistého ovzdušia pre zdravie, produktivitu, ekonomiku a životné prostredie. Taktiež sa snaží ukázať súvislosti medzi kvalitou ovzdušia a ďalšími environmentálnymi a rozvojovými výzvami, ako je zmena klímy. Podporuje riešenia, ktoré zlepšujú kvalitu ovzdušia a spája rôzne aktéry pre efektívne riadenie kvality ovzdušia. Patronom tohto dňa sa stala spoločnosť DPD, ktorá sa zaviazala k uhlíkovo neutrálnej preprave a redukcii emisií. Spoločnosť DPD tiež spolupracuje s projektom EKOkalendář, ktorý monitoruje kvalitu ovzdušia v Prahe. Mladí lidé nevidí v pěstování kakaa budoucnost a odcházejí do měst. Nadnárodní koncerny mají vliv na obchod s kakaem a ceny často kolísají. V České republice je dostupná široká škála fairtradových čokoládových výrobků, které jsou stále populárnější. Většina pěstitelů kakaa nikdy neochutnala čokoládu, ale farmáři s fairtradovou certifikací vlastní čokoládovny. Čtvrtina fairtradových pěstitelů kakaa jsou ženy.

Der Kauf von Schokolade und anderen Kakaoprodukten mit dem FAIRTRADE-Siegel trägt wesentlich zur Verbesserung der Lebens- und Arbeitsbedingungen der Kakaobauern und ihrer Familien in den Ländern des globalen Südens bei und fördert den Umweltschutz. Der Anbau von Kakao ist die Haupteinnahmequelle für über 55 Millionen Bauern im globalen Süden und sichert den Lebensunterhalt von über 14 Millionen Menschen. In den Hauptanbaugebieten in Westafrika bauen 90% der Kleinbauern auf Plantagen von weniger als 5 Hektar Kakao an. Die häufigsten Probleme beim Kakaoanbau sind die niedrigen Einkommen der Familien, Kinderarbeit, alternde Kakao-Bäume, der Einfluss multinationaler Konzerne und die Preisschwankungen auf dem Weltmarkt.

Cocoa is one of the most important commodities on the global market, but small-scale cocoa farmers struggle to make a living. Child labor is prevalent in cocoa-producing regions, particularly in West Africa. By purchasing chocolate and other cocoa products with the FAIRTRADE label, consumers can significantly improve the living and working conditions of cocoa farmers in developing countries and support environmental protection. Cocoa cultivation is the main source of income for over 55 million farmers in the Global South, providing livelihoods for over 14 million people. However, these farmers face numerous challenges, including low incomes, child labor, aging cocoa trees, declining production, youth migration to urban slums, and the increasing influence of multinational corporations. Fairtrade chocolate is available in the Czech Republic, with a growing demand for Fairtrade cocoa. Most cocoa farmers have never tasted chocolate, but Fairtrade-certified farmers in Ghana own 44 chocolate factories, making Divine Chocolate one of the largest and most well-known British chocolate producers. A quarter of Fairtrade cocoa farmers are women.

Koalice Za snadné dárcovství vyhlašuje Měsíc dobročinné závěti, který probíhá od 13. září do 13. října 2023. Cílem je upozornit na možnost konání dobrých skutků prostřednictvím dobročinné závěti. Dárcům, kteří ve své závěti pamatují na dobročinnou organizaci, bude proplacen notářský poplatek za sepsání závěti. Češi jsou podle průzkumů štědrým národem a čím dál více se otevírají i méně obvyklým cestám podpory dobročinnosti, jako jsou právě závěti. Česká společnost ornitologická má již zkušenosti s dary ze závěti a vděčí za ně důležitou finanční rezervu, která byla klíčová během pandemie. Die Koalition "Für einfache Spenden" gibt anlässlich des Internationalen Testaments-Tages jedes Jahr den Monat des wohltätigen Testaments bekannt. In der Zeit vom 13. September bis 13. Oktober 2023 erstattet die Stiftung Via den Spendern, die in ihrem letzten Willen an eine wohltätige Organisation, die ihnen am Herzen liegt, den Notargebühren für die Erstellung des Testaments berücksichtigen, die Notargebühren. The Coalition for Easy Donation, with the financial support of the Via Foundation on the occasion of International Will Day, annually announces the Month of Charitable Wills. From September 13 to October 13, 2023, donors who remember the charitable organization close to their hearts in their last will and testament will have their notary fees reimbursed. The goal is to raise awareness that through charitable wills, good deeds can be done both during and after life. Money, real estate, securities, and any small gift counts.

Surveys repeatedly show that Czechs are a generous nation. For example, according to the latest World Giving Index for 2021, philanthropy in the Czech Republic ranked a very respectable 13th out of 119 countries surveyed. However, Czech giving is not only growing in one-time aid during crises, such as the tornado in 2021 or last year's phenomenal solidarity with Ukraine. Lucie Hošková, Head of Public Relations at the Czech Society for Ornithology, adds that the Czech Society for Ornithology (CSO) already has experience with bequests. We gratefully remember Mrs. Eugenia Venzarová, a CSO member and a great bird lover. Mrs. Venzarová was a very cultured and well-traveled woman, but her greatest love was birds. Therefore, she bequeathed half of her savings to the CSO in her will. This generous act provided the CSO with an important financial reserve, which proved crucial during the COVID pandemic and the related economic crisis. Mrs. Venzarová was not the only one who remembered birds in her will through the CSO. We deeply appreciate other CSO supporters who we know also think of bird conservation in their wills, and we are very pleased that they see a deep meaning in the work of the CSO that they want to help fulfill with their legacy.

The red panda, also known as the lesser panda, is a small arboreal mammal and the only representative of the Ailuridae family. It is slightly larger than a domestic cat, has reddish-brown fur, and a long tail that helps it maintain balance in trees. There are two recognized subspecies of red panda: the Chinese red panda and the Himalayan red panda, which have different population histories. Red pandas live in mountainous forests in southern China, Nepal, Bhutan, India, and Myanmar, and primarily feed on bamboo. They are solitary animals and are active mainly at dawn and dusk. The female gives birth to about 1-2 cubs after a gestation period of 3-4 months and takes care of them for about a year. The red panda is classified as an endangered species due to habitat loss and fragmentation, as well as occasional hunting for fur. They are popularly kept in zoos for their appearance and lower maintenance compared to giant pandas. In Europe, they are bred in approximately 170 zoos, including several zoos in the Czech Republic.

Panda červená je menší stromová šelma, která je jediným zástupcem čeledi pandy malé. Existují dva poddruhy červené pandy - čínská a himálajská panda červená. Pandě červené se daří přežít v horských lesích jižní Číny, Nepálu, Bhútánu, Indii a Myanmaru. Její potravu tvoří převážně bambus, ale občas si zpestří jídelníček bobulemi, vejci nebo menšími zvířaty. Panda červená je samotářské zvíře, které je aktivní hlavně za úsvitu a soumraku. Samice rodí obvykle 1 až 2 mláďata, která jsou při narození bezmocná a matka se o ně stará zhruba rok. Panda červená je ohrožený druh, žije v přírodě asi jen 16 000-20 000 jedinců. Její hlavními hrozbami jsou ztráta přirozeného prostředí a lov pro kožešinu. Pandy červené jsou populární v zoologických zahradách, kde jsou chovány pro svůj vzhled a menší náročnost než panda velká. V Česku je lze vidět ve více než polovině zoologických zahrad, například v Zoo Praha, Zoo Brno, Zoo Liberec a dalších.

Deň nulových emisií, ktorý sa každoročne oslavuje 21. septembra, je globálna iniciatíva s cieľom dopriať planéte aspoň jeden deň oddychu od emisií skleníkových plynov a fosílnych palív. Ľudia po celom svete sa zapájajú rôznymi spôsobmi – napríklad jazdou na bicykli, chôdzou, obmedzením používania elektrických spotrebičov, vynechaním varenia alebo dôsledným triedením odpadu. Každý malý krok má význam a prispieva k zlepšeniu stavu životného prostredia.

Evropský týden mobility (ETM) je celotýdenní kampaň, která se koná každoročně od 16. do 22. září. Cílem kampaně je podpora udržitelné dopravy a města a obce se mohou do kampaně zapojit realizací různých aktivit. V České republice se kampaně účastní převážná část měst a obcí, které jsou členy Národní sítě zdravých měst. Zapojení do kampaně vyžaduje schválení Charty, která stanovuje pravidla a rámec akce. Koordinaci kampaní v ČR zajišťuje Ministerstvo životního prostředí. Die nationale Koordination beider Kampagnen in der Tschechischen Republik wird vom Ministerium für Umwelt übernommen. Im Jahr 2022 nahmen fast 3000 Gemeinden in 51 Ländern, darunter 26 Gemeinden in der Tschechischen Republik, an den Kampagnen teil. The Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic coordinates the national implementation of the campaign. In addition to EMW, various organizations in the Czech Republic organize events to promote sustainable and active mobility, such as "Walking to School," "Cycle to Work," "10,000 Steps Challenge," and "Experience the City Differently." V roce 2002 byl Evropský den bez aut rozšířen na celotýdenní kampaň s názvem Evropský týden mobility (ETM). Tato kampaň probíhá od 16. do 22. září a místní úřady v rámci ní realizují různé aktivity zaměřené na udržitelnou dopravu. V České republice se kampaně ETM a Evropský den bez aut (EDBA) realizují od roku 2002 a většinu zapojených měst a obcí tvoří členové NSZM ČR. It all started with an email. In mid-2011, Lisa Jane Campbell from Chishakwe Ranch in Zimbabwe was planning World Rhino Day. She found Rhishj's blog while searching for ideas and potential collaborators online. Lisa Jane sent Rhishj an email, and they both realized they shared the goal of making World Rhino Day a day of celebration for all five rhino species. In the following months, they worked together to make World Rhino Day 2011 an international success both online and offline. Since then, World Rhino Day has become a global phenomenon, bringing together NGOs, zoos, related organizations, businesses, and individuals from almost all corners of the world.

Rhinoceroses are one of the living families of the order Perissodactyla. Currently, we know 56 living species in four genera. All rhino species are endangered.

Rhinos are illegally hunted for their horns in many countries. Crushed horn, or rhino horn powder, is used in some traditional medicines and aphrodisiacs, such as in traditional Chinese medicine. However, China has officially committed to nature conservation according to CITES. In other countries, rhino horns are carved into handles for traditional knives and daggers. While the necessity of hunting rhinos is universally rejected as outdated and barbaric, popular practices still pose a threat to them.

Evropský parlament, Rada Evropské unie a Evropská komise vyhlásily 23. září Evropským dnem ekologického zemědělství, který má za cíl zvýšit informovanost o ekologické produkci v Evropské unii. Komise rovněž uděluje ceny za ekologický přístup ve všech fázích potravinového řetězce. Ekologické zemědělství přináší výhody pro klima a biodiverzitu, například snižuje emise skleníkových plynů a zvyšuje sekvestraci uhlíku v půdě. Tento systém také spotřebovává méně energie a minimalizuje ztráty dusíku. Ekologické hospodaření také zlepšuje kvalitu půdy a zvyšuje její úrodnost.

Der Europäische Tag der ökologischen Landwirtschaft wurde von drei wichtigen EU-Institutionen, dem Europäischen Parlament, dem Rat der Europäischen Union und der Europäischen Kommission, ausgerufen. Ziel ist es, das Bewusstsein für ökologische Produktion in der Europäischen Union zu erhöhen. Die Europäische Kommission vergibt auch jährlich Preise für ökologische Ansätze als Anerkennung für Exzellenz in allen Phasen der ökologischen Lebensmittelkette. Im Rahmen der Feierlichkeiten werden auch in diesem Jahr die besten und innovativsten Akteure mit den Europäischen Preisen für ökologische Landwirtschaft ausgezeichnet. Die Preisverleihung findet am 25. September 2023 statt. Die Europäische Kommission wird auch die Entwicklung von Netzwerken für nachhaltigen Ökotourismus durch Bioregionen unterstützen. Bioregionen sind Gebiete, in denen Landwirte, Bürger, Tourismusbetreiber, Verbände und öffentliche Organe zusammenarbeiten, um lokale Ressourcen auf der Grundlage ökologischer Prinzipien und Verfahren nachhaltig zu bewirtschaften. The European Parliament, the Council of the European Union, and the European Commission have declared September 23 as the European Day of Organic Farming to raise awareness about organic production in the European Union. The Commission also annually awards prizes for organic approaches as recognition of excellence in all stages of the organic food chain. The awards ceremony will take place on September 25, 2023. The European Commission will also support the development of organic tourism networks through bioregions, where farmers, citizens, tourism operators, associations, and public authorities will collaborate on sustainable management of local resources based on ecological principles and practices. The President of IFOAM Organics Europe, Jan Plagge, stated that the European Day of Organic Farming will be an ideal opportunity to assess Europe's progress in achieving the goal of 25% organically managed land by 2030, shaping consumer demand trends, raising awareness about organic farming throughout the supply chain, and implementing activities of the European Action Plan for Organic Farming.

Organic farming brings several benefits for climate and biodiversity, as highlighted in a document on the benefits of organic farming published by the IFOAM OE organization. Changing the way food is produced can have a significant impact on mitigating climate change, helping farmers adapt, and contributing to biodiversity protection. Organic farming offers a systemic approach to increasing carbon sequestration in soil while maintaining healthy soil and protecting biodiversity. Organic farming consumes less energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

By relying on closed nutrient cycles and minimizing nitrogen losses, organic farming can reduce global greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture by approximately 20%. Abandoning the use of synthetic fertilizers reduces nitrous oxide emissions from soil by 40% per hectare in organic production systems. Animals in organic farming have access to pasture and open spaces, and 60% of their feed must come from the farm or the same region. Thanks to the reduced number of animals and the pasture-based organic farming system, emissions are reduced, and carbon stocks in the soil improve. Organic farming often utilizes better manure management, such as composting, which can reduce nitrous oxide emissions by 50% and methane emissions by 70%. Organic farming has higher energy efficiency and lower energy consumption per hectare, consuming approximately 15% less energy per unit of production compared to conventional farming.

Organic farming sequesters more carbon. Many common practices of organic farming, such as crop rotation including legumes or limited soil tillage, help improve soil quality and fertility and significantly contribute to increased carbon sequestration of an additional 450 kg C/ha per year compared to conventionally managed soil.

Gorilla Gorilla ist eine Gattung der größten lebenden Primaten. Sie leben auf dem Boden und sind hauptsächlich Pflanzenfresser. Sie bewohnen die Wälder Zentralafrikas. Gorillas werden nach einigen Biologen in zwei Arten und vier Unterarten unterteilt. Die DNA der Gorillas stimmt zu 98 bis 99% mit der des Menschen überein und sind nach Schimpansen die engsten Verwandten des Menschen.
Gorillas bewohnen tropische und subtropische Wälder. Obwohl ihr Vorkommen nur wenige Prozent der Fläche Afrikas umfasst, erstrecken sich ihre Lebensräume über einen großen Höhenbereich. Die östliche Gorilla lebt in den Virunga-Bergen in Höhenlagen von 2225 bis 4267 m über dem Meeresspiegel. Die westliche Gorilla lebt in dichten Wäldern und Sümpfen, auch auf Meereshöhe.
Beide Gorillaarten sind bedroht. Gorillas waren lange Zeit das Ziel von Wilderern. Darüber hinaus bedroht die Zerstörung ihres Lebensraums und der Handel mit Wildtieren die Gorillas. Hug a Vegetarian Day je akce, která pomáhá lidem naučit se žít vegetariánským životním stylem. Vyloučení masa a živočišných produktů z jídelníčku může mít pozitivní vliv na životní prostředí a zdraví. Organizace PETA založila tuto akci, která se koná každý rok. Být vegetariánem není vždy snadné, ale dnes je snadné najít alternativy k masným produktům. Hug a Vegetarian Day je příležitostí poděkovat vegetariánům za jejich úsilí a zvířecí životy, které zachraňují. Na tento den se můžete stát vegetariány na jeden den a vyzkoušet vegetariánská jídla. Česká společnost ornitologická pořádá každých pár let Světový festival ptactva WorldBirdwatch, který se koná i v neevropských zemích. Festival se koná od roku 1993 a během něj ornitologové zaznamenávají počty pozorovaných druhů a jedinců ptáků. Tyto údaje jsou následně zpracovány a předány evropskému koordinátorovi, který je zveřejní. V roce 2023 se koná další ročník festivalu, na který jsou lidé v České republice i v dalších zemích v Evropě srdečně zváni. Během víkendu se budou pořádat vycházky za pozorováním ptáků, během kterých se budou zaznamenávat data o počtu pozorovaných druhů a jedinců. Tyto údaje budou opět zpracovány a zveřejněny. Am Wochenende vom 7. bis 8. Oktober 2023 findet das internationale Vogelfestival statt, zu dem wir Sie herzlich einladen. An diesem Wochenende begeben sich Menschen nicht nur in der Tschechischen Republik, sondern auch in anderen Ländern in ganz Europa auf Vogelbeobachtung, um Zeugen der faszinierenden Vogelmigration zu werden. Während der Exkursionen werden Daten über die Gesamtzahl der beobachteten Vogelarten und Individuen, häufig beobachtete Arten, seltene Arten usw. erfasst. Die einzelnen Länder werden die Daten am Ende des Wochenendes auswerten und an den europäischen Koordinator, den slowakischen Partner BirdLife International SOSBirdLife Slovakia, senden. Die Ergebnisse des diesjährigen Festivals werden wieder auf der Website der Tschechischen Ornithologischen Gesellschaft verfügbar sein.
In dieser Ausgabe sind 46 Exkursionen gemeldet, die von Freiwilligen im ganzen Land organisiert wurden. Die meisten von ihnen finden direkt an dem oben genannten Wochenende statt.

Počas výletov ornitológovia zaznamenávajú počet pozorovaných druhov a jedincov vtákov, najmä vzácne druhy a ďalšie zaujímavosti. Tieto údaje organizátori spracujú a pošlú koordinátorovi pre Európu, ktorý ich nasledujúci deň poskytne médiám. Světový den zvířat, který se slaví 4. října, byl vybrán na počest Svatého Františka z Assisi, který se staral o opuštěná a nemocná zvířata a považoval je za své sestry a bratry. Toto datum má v České republice zavedenou tradici a oslavy se konají v různých městech. Zoologické zahrady se také podílejí na rozšiřování této tradice a pořádají oslavy s bohatým programem pro návštěvníky i zvířata. Nadace na ochranu zvířat pak každoročně pořádá oslavy spojené s charitativní sbírkou pro opuštěné psy a kočky.

Warum gerade der 4. Oktober? Dieses Datum wurde zu Ehren des Heiligen Franziskus von Assisi gewählt. Franziskus, der Gründer des Franziskanerordens, predigte ein bescheidenes Leben in Armut und kümmerte sich um verlassene und kranke Tiere. Historischen Quellen zufolge sprach er mit den Tieren und betrachtete sie nicht als niedrigere Wesen, sondern als seine Schwestern und Brüder, als Kinder eines Vaters. Diese Einstellung zu Tieren war im Christentum nicht typisch. Franziskus von Assisi hat zudem ökologische Anforderungen vorweggenommen, einschließlich der Ausweitung der menschlichen Ethik auf alles Lebendige. Deshalb wurde er zum Schutzpatron der Ökologie. Franziskus starb am 4. Oktober 1226, und aus diesem Grund wurde dieses Datum später als Welttierschutztag ausgewählt.

Der Welttierschutztag hat in der Tschechischen Republik eine etablierte Tradition und wird einer immer größeren Anzahl von Menschen bekannt. Die Feierlichkeiten finden in verschiedenen Städten im ganzen Land statt. Zoos tragen maßgeblich zur Verbreitung dieser Tradition bei, wo jedes Jahr ausgelassene Feierlichkeiten mit einem reichen Begleitprogramm für menschliche und natürlich auch tierische Besucher stattfinden. Auch Tiere aus Tierheimen feiern ihren Tag. Die Tierschutzstiftung organisiert jedes Jahr Feierlichkeiten zum Welttierschutztag, verbunden mit einer Wohltätigkeitssammlung von Züchterbedarf für verlassene Hunde und Katzen. Die gesammelten Züchterbedarfsgegenstände werden den Tierheimen von der Tierschutzstiftung übergeben.

Why October 4th? This date was chosen in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi. Francis, the founder of the Franciscan order, preached a humble life in poverty and cared for abandoned and sick animals. According to historical sources, he spoke to animals and considered them not as lower beings than humans, but as his brothers and sisters, children of the same father. Such an approach to animals was not typical in Christianity. Francis of Assisi also anticipated the demands of ecological character, including the extension of human ethics to all living beings, which is why he became the patron of ecology. Francis died on October 4th, 1226, and for this reason, this date was later suitable for the declaration of World Animal Day.

World Animal Day has a well-established tradition in the Czech Republic and is becoming more and more known to a growing number of people. Its celebrations take place in various cities throughout the country. Zoos play a significant role in spreading this tradition, where lively celebrations with rich accompanying programs are held every year for both human visitors and animals. Animals from shelters also celebrate their day. The Animal Protection Foundation organizes annual celebrations of World Animal Day, combined with a charitable collection of breeding supplies for abandoned dogs and cats, and the acquired breeding aids are handed over to shelters.

Svetový deň zvierat má v Českej republike svoju zavedenú tradíciu a dostáva sa do povedomia stále väčšiemu počtu obyvateľov. Jeho oslavy sa konajú v rôznych mestách po celej Českej republike. Zoologicke záhrady sa veľmi podieľajú na rozširovaní tejto tradície a každoročne organizujú bohatý program pre návštevníkov. Aj útulky pre zvieratá oslavujú tento deň a súčasne organizujú charitatívne zbierky pre opustené psy a mačky.

Zahrňuje zemské minerály, horniny, fosílie, pôdy, sedimenty, tvary terénu a topografiu, ako aj hydrologické prvky, ako sú rieky a jazerá, a procesy, ktoré tieto prvky vytvárajú a upravujú. This natural fabric is a product that changes lives around the world, supporting 2.867 billion growers and benefiting over 100 million families in 75 countries on 5 continents. Mezinárodný deň obmedzenia prírodných katastrof nás má upozorniť na to, ako naše správanie môže ovplyvňovať predovšetkým zmenu klímy a globálne otepľovanie. The rest ended up in landfills, incinerators, or was traded and processed improperly, resulting in a significant loss of valuable and critical raw materials from the supply chain. Electronic waste contains 69 elements from the periodic table, and recycling these materials can contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 15 million tons. The app "Kam s ním" provides a list of collection points for various types of waste, helping to minimize environmental impact. The minimum collection rate in EU member states is set at 65 percent of the average weight of appliances placed on the market in the previous three years or alternatively 85 percent of the manufactured appliances. This means collecting approximately 10 million tons, or about 20 kg per person. The International E-Waste Day can significantly contribute to raising awareness and improving the collection rate not only in the Czech Republic and Europe but globally.

V roku 2019 sa odhaduje, že na planéte vzniklo 53,66 miliónov ton elektronického odpadu, čo je viac ako kedykoľvek predtým. Do roku 2030 sa predpokladá, že toto množstvo dosiahne neuveriteľných 75 miliónov ton, čo je 9 kg na každého človeka na svete. Elektronický odpad obsahuje 69 prvkov periodického systému, a vďaka recyklácii môžeme tieto materiály vrátiť späť do výroby, čo len v roku 2019 celosvetovo prispelo k zníženiu produkcie skleníkových plynov o 15 miliónov ton.

Lenochod je samotářský tvor, který žije na malém území a preferuje stromy s mnoha liánami a slunečním osvětlením. Na jednom stromě obvykle žije jen jedno zvíře, a to samice se svým mládětem. Občas je možné vidět samce, kteří se perou. Lenochodi mají odlišný počet krčních obratlů a jsou schopni přežít zranění, která by zabila jiné zvíře stejné velikosti. Jejich srst je domovem pro další druhy živočichů, jako je samice mola Cryptoses choloepi a pták čimango žlutavý. Lenochodi jsou ohroženým druhem kvůli ztrátě přirozeného prostředí a nebezpečím, jako jsou dráty vysokého napětí a pytláci. Lenochodi patří do skupiny Xenarthra, která se objevila v Jižní Americe před 60 miliony let.

Der Faultier ist ein Einzelgänger, der ein langsames Leben führt und daher nur ein kleines Gebiet von etwa 0,05 km2 bewohnt. Es bevorzugt Bäume mit vielen Lianen und Ästen, die von direktem Sonnenlicht beleuchtet werden. Auf einem Baum findet man normalerweise nur ein Tier, zusammen leben nur das Weibchen und ihr Junges. Manchmal kann man auch Männchen sehen, die sich bekämpfen und sich mit ihren Krallen angreifen.

Interessantes aus dem Leben der Faultiere:

    Als eine der wenigen Säugetierarten hat das Faultier eine andere Anzahl von Halswirbeln als die üblichen sieben. Bei der Gattung Bradypus sind es neun und bei der Gattung Choloepus sechs Halswirbel. Außerdem hat das Faultier keinen Blinddarm oder Gallenblase. Bis zu zwei Drittel des Gewichts des Faultiers können in seinem Verdauungstrakt aus Nahrung bestehen.
    Das Faultier ist in der Lage, Verletzungen zu überleben, die ein anderes Tier derselben Größe töten würden.
    Der englische Name des Faultiers, Hoffmanns zweifingeriges Faultier, stammt von dem deutschen Naturforscher Karl Hoffmann (1823-1859). Der englische Name "sloth" bedeutet faul.

Neben Algen ist das Fell des Faultiers auch Heimat für andere Tierarten, wie zum Beispiel das Weibchen der MolaCryptoses choloepi, das in seinem Fell lebt und Eier in seinen Kot legt. Es wurde auch ein gelber Vogel namens "čimango" beobachtet, der im Fell des Faultiers nach kleinen wirbellosen Tieren sucht.
Das Braunhals-Faultier und das Kurzhals-Faultier gelten als gefährdete Arten. Sie sind vor allem durch den Verlust ihres natürlichen Lebensraums bedroht. Die meisten Todesfälle von Faultieren in Costa Rica werden durch Begegnungen mit Hochspannungsleitungen oder Wilderern verursacht.

The sloth is a solitary creature that lives a slow life and occupies only a small territory of about 0.05 km2. It prefers trees with many lianas and branches illuminated by direct sunlight. Usually, only one animal is found on one tree, and only the female lives with her offspring. Occasionally, males can be seen fighting and attacking each other with their claws.

Interesting facts about sloths:

- Unlike most mammals, sloths have a different number of neck vertebrae. The Bradypus genus has nine, while the Choloepus genus has six neck vertebrae. Additionally, sloths do not have a blind gut or a gallbladder. Up to two-thirds of a sloth's weight can be food in its digestive tract.

- Sloths are capable of surviving injuries that would kill other animals of the same size.

Mezinárodní den oprav také slouží k podpoře hnutí, která se snaží o právo na opravu a udržitelnější přístup k elektronice. Der Internationale Reparaturtag wurde erstmals im Jahr 2017 in Zusammenarbeit mit der Open Repair Alliance ins Leben gerufen. Seitdem haben sich Repair Cafés und Restart Parties weltweit verbreitet. Der Tag dient auch dazu, auf Bewegungen wie das Recht auf Reparatur aufmerksam zu machen. Es gibt viele Möglichkeiten, den Internationalen Reparaturtag zu feiern und sich an der Gemeinschaft zu beteiligen, die sich für langlebige Produkte einsetzt. Man kann lokale Veranstaltungen besuchen, eigene Reparaturen durchführen und die Erfahrungen in den sozialen Medien teilen. Mezinárodný deň opráv je iniciatíva, ktorá bojuje proti plýtvaniu a zdôrazňuje hodnotu opráv. V rámci komunitných opravárskych akcií a prostredníctvom sociálnych médií sa upozorňuje na výhody starostlivosti o veci a opravy. Deň opráv bol založený v roku 2017 a odvtedy sa zapájajú rôzne organizácie a podniky, ktoré sa snažia o udržateľný prístup k elektronickým produktom a ich opravám. Medzinárodné dni opráv sa tiež využívajú na podporu hnutí ako je Právo na opravu, ktoré sa zameriava na zabezpečenie informácií a zdrojov potrebných na opravu elektronických výrobkov. Osláviť Medzinárodný deň opráv môžete účasťou na miestnych akciách, opravou vecí v domácnosti alebo zdieľaním príbehov a obrázkov na sociálnych sieťach. Projekt Naučíme vás to opraviť sa snaží zvýšiť počet opravárov elektrospotrebičov v Česku a zapájajú sa do neho stredné školy. Projekt chce vychovať novú generáciu manuálne zručných technikov, ktorí sa dokážu postarať aj o spotrebiče s umelou inteligenciou.

Den stromů má dlouhou historii, která sahá až do roku 1594, kdy se poprvé slavil ve španělské vesnici Mondonedo. Roku 1951 přijala FAO usnesení, ve kterém se doporučuje slavit světový svátek stromu. V České republice se Den stromů slaví od roku 1906, přičemž tradice byla obnovena až v roce 2000. Ochrana stromů je důležitá v boji proti klimatickým změnám, protože stromy pohlcují CO2. Výsadba nových stromů je důležitá, ale ještě důležitější je ochrana stromů a lesů, které již máme. Každý může přispět k ochraně stromů tím, že změní své spotřební návyky, nepodporuje produkty s palmovým olejem, šetří papírem, upřednostňuje dřevěné výrobky s označením FSC a používá aplikaci Forest, která pomáhá lesům.

Geschichte des Tag des Baumes
Alte und heilige Haine wurden seit jeher verehrt und daher auch geschützt. Die Verehrung wurde von Generation zu Generation weitergegeben. Das erste dokumentierte Pflanzfest fand 1594 in dem spanischen Dorf Mondonedo statt. Der Ort namens Alameda de los Remedios ist immer noch mit Linden und Fliederbäumen bepflanzt. An diesem Ort befindet sich eine Bronzetafel, die an dieses Ereignis erinnert.

Im Jahr 1951 verabschiedete die Ernährungs- und Landwirtschaftsorganisation der Vereinten Nationen (FAO) folgende Resolution: Die Konferenz erkannte die Notwendigkeit an, dass alle Menschen den ästhetischen, psychologischen und wirtschaftlichen Wert des Waldes erkennen sollten. Daher wird empfohlen, dass in allen Mitgliedstaaten jährlich ein Welttag des Baumes gefeiert wird, zu einem geeigneten Zeitpunkt unter Berücksichtigung der lokalen Bedingungen.

Geschichte des Tag des Baumes in der Tschechischen Republik
Die Idee wurde in die Tschechische Republik vom Verband der Verschönerungsvereine gebracht und der Tag des Baumes wurde erstmals Anfang April 1906 massenhaft gefeiert. Die Tradition wurde durch den Krieg und das kommunistische Regime unterbrochen und erst im Jahr 2000 wiederbelebt. Und wie es scheint, endet die Geschichte des Tag des Baumes auch nach mehr als 150 Jahren noch lange nicht.

Die Idee zur Wiederbelebung dieser Tradition in der Tschechischen Republik kam vom ehemaligen Direktor des Botanischen Gartens der Karls-Universität und bekannten Baumexperten Václav Větvička und dem Holzbildhauer Martin Patřičný. Das Datum der ersten Feier des Tag des Baumes wurde auf den 20. Staré a posvätné háje boli uctievané a chránené od nepamäti. Úcta k nim sa prenášala z generácie na generáciu. Prvý zdokumentovaný sviatok výsadby stromov je z španielskej dediny Mondonedo v roku 1594. Miesto nazývané Alameda de los Remedios je stále osádzané lipami a jasenmi. Na mieste je inštalovaná bronzová pamätná tabuľa pripomínajúca túto udalosť.

V roku 1951 prijala Organizácia OSN pre výživu a poľnohospodárstvo (FAO) nasledujúce uznesenie: Konferencia zistila, že je potrebné, aby si všetci ľudia uvedomovali estetickú, psychologickú a hospodársku hodnotu lesa, a preto sa odporúča, aby sa každoročne všetkými členskými štátmi oslavoval svetový sviatok stromu vtedy, keď sa to zdá vhodné v miestnych podmienkach.

História Dňa stromov v Českej republike
Myšlienku priniesol do Čiech Zväz združení okrasných záhrad a prvýkrát sa tu Deň stromov masovo oslavoval na začiatku apríla roku 1906. Tradícia bola prerušená vojnou a komunistickým režimom a obnovila sa až v roku 2000. Ako sa zdá, podľa narastajúceho záujmu, história Dňa stromov ani po viac ako 150 rokoch zďaleka nekončí.

S nápadom obnoviť túto tradíciu v Českej republike prišli bývalý riaditeľ Botanickej záhrady Univerzity Karlovej a známy popularizátor stromov Václav Větvička a drevo-sochár Martin Patřičný. Dátum prvej oslavy sviatku stromov bol stanovený na 20. októbra 2000, pretože v mnohých lokalitách Českej republiky je to vhodný termín na výsadbu stromov a jeseň je tiež časom, keď sú stromy asi najkrajšie a hrajú všetkými farbami.

Auf unseren Supermarktregalen liegen importierte Äpfel aus Spanien oder Italien. Nur noch wenige Großmütter machen Marmeladen und Sirupe für ihre Enkel. Es gibt auch immer weniger Menschen, die sich um Obstbäume kümmern können oder sogar ihre Sorten erkennen können. Die meisten von uns kennen nur moderne Sorten importierter Äpfel aus Supermärkten und fragen danach in Gärtnereien, wenn wir einen Apfelbaum für unseren Garten kaufen gehen. Es fällt uns meistens nicht ein, dass siebzig Jahre alte Bäume, die in verlassenen und von Wildnis überwucherten Obstgärten hinter dem Dorf wachsen, wertvolle lokale Sorten sind. Warum pflanzen Gemeinden keine Obstalleen und Baumreihen in die Landschaft? Die Rückkehr von Hochstammobstbäumen ist ein sehr wichtiger und unverzichtbarer historischer Bestandteil der hiesigen Landschaft, insbesondere in Bezug auf das Landschaftsbild. Eine solche Allee entlang einer Straße vervollständigt und bereichert das bestehende Ökosystem. Heutzutage haben wir nur noch wenige Möglichkeiten, einen Apfelbaumweg zu gehen, der in jeder Jahreszeit mit der unerwarteten Schönheit seiner Blüten, Blätter oder dem Duft und Geschmack süßer, bunter Früchte lockt. Dies hängt auch mit der Frage zusammen, warum Mostereien, Obstdörrereien und Likörfabriken verschwunden sind. Viele alte Sorten sind an den Ort angepasst, sie tragen zuverlässig auch unter schlechteren Bedingungen, die Bäume sind frostbeständig und meistens resistent gegen verschiedene Krankheiten. Einige von ihnen stehen modernen Apfelbäumen in nichts nach, zum Beispiel die alte Sorte Matčino Grávštýnské, rote Kalvil, weißer Kalvil, Winterapfel oder fast vergessene Äpfel Sudetská Reneta, Panenské české, Řehtáč soudkovitý - das sind wirklich Sorten für Feinschmecker. Our ancestors relied on apples as their main source of fruit and health throughout the winter. Local fruit growers developed varieties ideal for the local climate and had years of experience in their cultivation. However, these old and abandoned orchards or roadside trees are now at risk of extinction as entrepreneurs buy neglected land for cheap and use it as a source of subsidies. We now find imported apples from Spain or Italy on store shelves, and only a few grandmothers make preserves and syrups for their grandchildren. There are also fewer people who know how to care for fruit trees or even recognize their varieties. Most of us are only familiar with modern varieties of imported apples from supermarkets, so we mainly ask for them in nurseries when buying an apple tree for our garden. We rarely consider that seventy-year-old trees growing in abandoned and overgrown orchards outside the village are valuable local varieties. The return of high-stem fruit trees is a very important and indispensable historical element of the local landscape, especially in terms of landscape character. Such an alley lining a road completes and enriches the existing ecosystem. Today, we have few opportunities to walk through an apple alley that offers unexpected beauty of its flowers, leaves, or the scent and taste of sweet colorful fruits in every season. This is also related to the question of why cider presses, fruit dryers, and distilleries have disappeared. Many old varieties are adaptable to the location, reliably bear fruit even in worse conditions, and are hardy against frost and most diseases. Some of them are not inferior in taste to modern apple varieties, such as the old variety Matčino Grávštýnské, red Kalvil, white Kalvil, or the almost forgotten apples Sudetská Reneta, Panenské české, and Řehtáč soudkovitý. These varieties are truly for gourmets. These apple trees are a product of nature and humans who found it worth cultivating them for centuries. We should have respect for them as varieties and for old trees. In the cultural landscape, it has become a tradition to plant trees. If we want to preserve it, you can also celebrate the Day of Original Apple Varieties by planting an apple tree on your land this autumn, but consider carefully which one. Don't forget about suitable living conditions for the tree, a suitable location, enough space, and time. Našim predkom poskytovali jablká hlavný zdroj ovocia a zdravia počas celej zimy. Ovocnári vyšľachtili odrody ideálne pre miestne podnebie a mali mnohoročné skúsenosti s ich pestovaním. Teraz týmto starým a opusteným sadom alebo stromom pri cestách hrozí zánik, pretože podnikatelia kupujú zanedbanú pôdu za lacné ceny a tá je zdrojom dotácií. Na pultoch obchodov ležia jablká dovážané zo Španielska alebo Talianska. Zavařeniny, džemy a sirupy robia už len niekoľko babičiek zo zvyku pre svoje vnúčatá. Ubúda aj tých, ktorí sa o ovocné stromy vedia postarať alebo dokonca rozoznať ich odrody. Väčšinou poznáme z hypermarketov len moderné odrody dovážaných jabĺk a preto sa hlavne po nich pýtame v záhradníctvach, keď si ideme kúpiť jablon na svoju záhradu. Väčšinou nás ani nenapadne, že sedemdesiatročné stromy, ktoré nám rastú za dedinou v zpustlých a divočinou pohltených sadoch, sú hodnotná miestna odroda. Aj obec, ktorá sa rozhodne vyzdobiť verejné priestranstvo, radšej siahne po univerzálnych tujách a smrekoch než po odrodách ovocných stromov, ktoré sú úzko späté s históriou ich regiónu. Prečo obce nevysádzajú ovocné aleje a stromoradia do krajiny? Návrat ovocných vysokokmeňov je veľmi dôležitým a nenahraditeľným historickým prvkom miestnej krajiny, najmä z hľadiska krajinného rázu. Taká alej lemujúca cestu dotvára a obohacuje súčasný ekosystém. Dnes máme už málo možností prejsť sa jablonovou alejou, ktorá v každom ročnom období ponúka nečakanú krásu svojich kvetov, listov alebo vôňu a chuť sladkých farebných plodov.
