Přehrady a jezy - ano nebo ne? Mezinárodní den akce pro řeky je každoroční oslavou úspěchů v boji proti přehradám a za obnovu přírodního rázu řek. Tato iniciativa vznikla v roce 1997 na setkání v Brazílii. Lidé po celém světě se dnes setkávají, demonstrují a poukazují na rizika spojená s přehrazováním řek. Přehrazení řek může ohrozit místní obyvatele a zemědělce. Hodina Země je akce, kterou organizuje světová ochranářská organizace World Wildlife Fund (WWF) s cílem zvýšit informovanost o změnách klimatu. Během této akce domácnosti, podniky a veřejné instituce vypínají své osvětlení a elektrické spotřebiče na jednu hodinu od 20:30 do 21:30 místního času. Loňský ročník akce se v ČR zapojilo 133 obcí, 84 organizací a firem, 4 památky a 790 jednotlivců, kteří si stanovili klimatický závazek. Většina z nich se zavázala ušetřit 2200 tun skleníkových plynů ročně. Města a menší sídla mají důležitou roli při snižování emisí skleníkových plynů v souladu s cíli EU, a proto je tato akce pro ně velmi relevantní.

Die Aktion wird von der weltweit führenden Umweltschutzorganisation World Wildlife Fund (WWF) organisiert, die in 100 Ländern tätig ist und von über einer Million Mitgliedern in den USA und fast fünf Millionen weltweit unterstützt wird. Städte und Gemeinden beteiligen sich traditionell an der Earth Hour, indem sie öffentliche Beleuchtung, die Beleuchtung von Denkmälern und öffentlichen Gebäuden ausschalten. Sie zeigen symbolisch, dass ihnen der Klimaschutz nicht gleichgültig ist und dass sie sich bewusst sind, dass die Klimakrise uns alle betrifft und gelöst werden muss. Im vergangenen Jahr haben sich in Tschechien 133 Gemeinden, darunter 12 Städte mit Sonderstatus, 84 Organisationen und Unternehmen, 4 Denkmäler und 6 öffentliche Veranstaltungen an der Earth Hour beteiligt. Auch 790 Einzelpersonen haben sich angemeldet, von denen die überwiegende Mehrheit (756) ihre eigene Klimaverpflichtung festgelegt hat und sich verpflichtet hat, insgesamt 2200 Tonnen Treibhausgase pro Jahr einzusparen. In Prag wurden die Karlsbrücke, der Petřín-Aussichtsturm, das Nationaltheater und das Rathaus auf der Prager Altstadt sowie 50 weitere Orte verdunkelt. In Brünn wurde die Špilberk-Festung und das Neue Rathaus verdunkelt, in Ostrava das Rathaus. In kleineren Gemeinden wurde die öffentliche Beleuchtung ausgeschaltet. Einige Rathäuser haben ehrgeizige Klimaverpflichtungen erklärt. Auch andere Akteure wie Unternehmen, Hotels, Cafés und Schulen haben ihre eigenen Klimaverpflichtungen festgelegt. Die Anmeldung für die diesjährige Earth Hour, der größten weltweiten Kampagne zum Schutz des Klimas, ist ab Mitte Februar 2023 auf www.earthhour.cz möglich. Städte und kleinere Siedlungen spielen eine sehr wichtige Rolle bei der Erfüllung der Verpflichtungen der EU und damit auch der Tschechischen Republik, die europäischen Treibhausgasemissionen bis 2030 um mindestens 55% gegenüber 1990 zu reduzieren. Dies erfordert erhebliche Anstrengungen und Investitionen in erneuerbare Energien, Energieeinsparungen in Gebäuden und die Erstellung strategischer Pläne zur Erreichung der Klimaneutralität bis spätestens 2050. Manatee appreciation events usually take place in areas with large manatee populations, such as Florida, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Zoos and marine biology centers may offer special programs related to manatees on Manatee Day. Anyone can celebrate Manatee Day by exploring manatees, starting their own awareness campaign, or contributing to manatee protection programs. Valné shromáždění Organizace spojených národů (OSN) uznalo důležitost iniciativ nulového odpadu a vyhlásilo 30. březen Mezinárodním dnem nulového odpadu, který se bude slavit od roku 2023. Cílem těchto iniciativ je řádné nakládání s odpady, minimalizace jejich množství a předcházení jejich vzniku. To má přispět ke snížení znečištění, zmírnění klimatické krize, zachování biologické rozmanitosti, posílení potravinové bezpečnosti a zlepšení lidského zdraví. Program OSN pro životní prostředí a UNHabitat budou podporovat dodržování tohoto dne a všechny členské státy OSN byly vyzvány k zaváděním iniciativ nulového odpadu na všech úrovních.

Jährlich werden rund 931 Millionen Tonnen Lebensmittel verschwendet und bis 2040 wird erwartet, dass bis zu 37 Millionen Tonnen Plastikmüll pro Jahr in den Ozean gelangen.

Die Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen hat am 14. Dezember 2022 die Bedeutung von Zero-Waste-Initiativen offiziell anerkannt und den 30. März zum Internationalen Tag des Zero Waste erklärt, der ab 2023 jährlich gefeiert werden soll.

Zero-Waste-Initiativen können eine ordnungsgemäße Abfallentsorgung unterstützen, Abfall minimieren und dessen Entstehung verhindern. Dies trägt zur Reduzierung von Umweltverschmutzung, Bekämpfung der Klimakrise, Erhaltung der biologischen Vielfalt, Stärkung der Lebensmittelsicherheit und Verbesserung der menschlichen Gesundheit bei.

Das UN-Umweltprogramm und UN-Habitat werden die Einhaltung dieses Tages unterstützen. Alle Mitgliedsstaaten des UN-Systems und relevante beteiligte Parteien wurden aufgefordert, Zero-Waste-Initiativen auf lokaler, regionaler und nationaler Ebene umzusetzen.

The United Nations General Assembly formally recognized the importance of zero waste initiatives and declared March 30th as International Zero Waste Day, to be celebrated annually starting in 2023. Zero waste initiatives can promote proper waste management, minimize waste generation, reduce pollution, mitigate the climate crisis, preserve biodiversity, enhance food security, and improve human health. The United Nations Environment Programme and UN-Habitat will support the observance of this day, and all UN member states and relevant stakeholders have been urged to implement zero waste initiatives at the local, regional, and national levels.

Lidstvo ročně vyprodukuje odhadem 224 miliardy tun tuhého komunálního odpadu, z čehož pouze 55 procent se nakládá v kontrolovaných zařízeních. Do roku 2050 by množství odpadu mohlo vzrůst na 388 miliardy tun ročně. Odvětví odpadů významně přispívá k emisím skleníkových plynů v městském prostředí a ke ztrátě biologické rozmanitosti. Ročně se vyplýtvá kolem 931 milionů tun potravin a očekává se, že do roku 2040 se do oceánu dostane až 37 milionů tun plastového odpadu ročně.

Valné shromáždění Organizace spojených národů dne 14. prosince 2022 formálně uznalo důležitost iniciativ nulového odpadu a vyhlásilo 30. březen Mezinárodním dnem nulového odpadu, který se má každoročně slavit od roku 2023.

Iniciativy nulového odpadu mohou podpořit řádné nakládání s odpady a minimalizovat odpad a předcházet jeho vzniku. To přispívá ke snížení znečištění, zmírnění klimatické krize, zachování biologické rozmanitosti, posílení potravinové bezpečnosti a zlepšení lidského zdraví.

Mezinárodní den ptactva je připomínkou podepsání mezinárodní konvence a tradice slavení Dne ptáků v Česku sahá až do dob Rakousko-Uherské monarchie. Hlavním cílem tohoto dne je upozornit na nebezpečí, která ohrožují ptáky a jejich stanoviště. Ochrana jednotlivých druhů nestačí, je důležité také chránit jejich prostředí. Ptáci jsou ohroženi zejména během svých dlouhých cest, především při přeletu Středozemního moře, kde jsou často loveni. Každoročně zde zahyne více než 1 milion ptáků. Ornitolové slaví svátek ptáků v terénu, kde mohou pozorovat různé druhy ptáků, včetně těch migrujících a hnízdících.

The main goal of International Bird Day is to draw attention to the dangers threatening birds worldwide and to help protect them and their habitats. Protecting individual species is not enough, as the protection of their habitats is also necessary. Many neglected and overgrown areas of nature are disappearing from the Czech landscape, and few realize that this is causing the loss of habitats for many bird species. The biggest threats to birds, however, occur during their often very long migrations. According to BirdLife International, more than 1 million birds die each year in the Mediterranean, mainly in Cyprus, due to hunting practices. Ornithologists celebrate Bird Day in the field, as April is a time when bird migration is in full swing and many interesting bird species can be observed.

Medzinárodný deň vtáctva je oslavou podpísania medzinárodnej konvencie o vtáctve. Tradícia slávenia Dňa vtáctva v Slovenskom jazyku sa datuje až do doby Rakúsko-Uhorskej monarchie. Jedným z hlavných cieľov tohto dňa je upozorniť na nebezpečenstvá, ktoré ohrozujú vtáky po celom svete a pomôcť ich ochrane a ochrane ich prostredia. Hlavnými hrozbami pre vtáky sú ich dlhé migrácie, počas ktorých sú často lovené a zabití. Oslavy Dňa vtáctva sa konajú v teréne, kde je možné pozorovať rôzne druhy vtákov, ktoré sa vrátia na svoje hniezdištia alebo prechádzajú cez územie.

Světový den vodních živočichů je zaměřen na zvýšení povědomí o důležitosti těchto tvorů a jejich ochraně. Prvního Světového dne vodních živočichů v roce 2020 se zúčastnilo mnoho organizací po celém světě. Doufá se, že se v příštích letech připojí ještě více lidí.

Da Menschen nicht im Wasser leben, ist es leicht, die enorme Menge und Vielfalt der Wassertiere zu vergessen, die die Ozeane, Meere, Seen und andere Gewässer auf unserem Planeten bewohnen. Wasserlebewesen können Wirbeltiere oder Wirbellose sein. Sie können Luft atmen oder Sauerstoff durch Kiemen oder Haut extrahieren. Und sie können in Süß- oder Salzwasser leben. Aber egal, welche Unterschiede sie haben, eine Sache ist sicher: Wasserlebewesen verdienen es, dass wir sie bemerken und schätzen.
Der Welttag der Wasserlebewesen konzentriert sich darauf, dass die Menschen sich Zeit nehmen, um die Bedeutung all dieser Kreaturen im Wasser zu erfahren und ihre Bedeutung anzuerkennen. Neben Fischen umfasst die Kategorie der Wasserlebewesen eine Vielzahl anderer Kreaturen wie Weichtiere, Krebstiere, Wasservögel, Seesterne, Korallen, Wasserinsekten, Amphibien, Meeressäuger, Reptilien und andere.
Die Idee des Welttags der Wasserlebewesen ist es, das Bewusstsein weltweit zu erhöhen, damit Menschen auf der ganzen Welt zusammenkommen und Prinzipien, Gesetze, Bildung und Maßnahmen entwickeln können, die dazu beitragen, diese wertvollen Tiere zu schützen. Die Hoffnung besteht darin, den Status dieser Tiere zu erhöhen, damit die Menschen eher eine aktive Rolle bei ihrer Erforschung und Handlung übernehmen. Es gibt immer noch verschiedene Ideen zum Schutz dieser Tiere, von der Verschmutzung durch Plastik bis hin zu Problemen des Klimawandels.
Am ersten Welttag der Wasserlebewesen im Jahr 2020 nahmen viele Organisationen auf der ganzen Welt teil, darunter Kanada, Chile, Australien, Südafrika, Kasachstan, Kenia, Simbabwe, Kroatien, Norwegen, Russland, die Schweiz, das Vereinigte Königreich und andere.
Wir hoffen, dass sich in den kommenden Jahren viele weitere anschließen werden. Je mehr Menschen sich beteiligen, desto besser.

It aims to encourage people to learn about these animals and recognize their significance. Aquatic animals include not only fish but also mollusks, crustaceans, water birds, starfish, corals, aquatic insects, amphibians, marine mammals, reptiles, and more. The goal of the World Day of Aquatic Animals is to increase worldwide awareness and create principles, laws, education, and outreach efforts to protect these valuable creatures. The first World Day of Aquatic Animals in 2020 was celebrated by many organizations around the world, and it is hoped that more people will join in the coming years. The more people get involved, the better.

Světový den vodních živočichů je zaměřen na zvýšení povědomí o důležitosti vodních živočichů a jejich ochraně. Kromě ryb zahrnuje tato kategorie i měkkýše, korýše, vodní ptáky, hvězdice, korály, vodní hmyz, obojživelníky, mořské savce a plazy. Cílem je, aby se lidé spojili a vytvořili zásady, zákony a vzdělávání, které pomohou chránit tyto cenná zvířata. Potkani jsou různí středně velcí hlodavci, kteří se liší od myší pouze velikostí. Světový den potkanů je vytvořen s cílem uznat potkana jako úžasného mazlíčka. Oslava tohoto dne může zahrnovat posílání pohlednic a emailů potkanářům po celém světě, dávání dárků a pochoutek svým mazlíčkům a sdílení fotografií a videí na sociálních sítích. Im Jahr 1970 schloss sich Nelson mit dem Aktivisten Daniel Hayes zusammen, der im April eine Aktion von Tausenden von Hochschulen und Universitäten aus allen Teilen der USA koordinierte. Über 20 Millionen Amerikaner beteiligten sich daran. Zu dieser Zeit gab es immer wieder Proteste gegen die Konsumgesellschaft, den Establishment oder den Vietnamkrieg. Die Aktion, bei der die Organisatoren unter anderem die Nutzung erneuerbarer Energien, das Recycling von Abfällen und die Beseitigung von Chemikalien, die die Ozonschicht zerstören, forderten, erfüllte ihren Zweck. Bereits im Dezember 1970 wurde die US-Umweltbehörde EPA gegründet und in den 70er Jahren wurden im Kongress mehrere Umweltgesetze und bedeutende gesetzgeberische Maßnahmen verabschiedet, wie das Luftreinhaltegesetz oder das Gesetz zum Schutz gefährdeter Arten. Im Jahr 1971 wurde dieser Feiertag erstmals von den Vereinten Nationen anerkannt und am 20. März 1971 begangen.
In den folgenden Jahren verbreitete sich der Earth Day auf der ganzen Welt. Im Jahr 1990 erreichte er anlässlich des 20. Jahrestages des US-Earth Day eine Massendimension, an der sich 200 Millionen Menschen in 140 Ländern, einschließlich der Tschechoslowakei, beteiligten. Zum ersten Mal beteiligte sich auch China an der Aktion. V Česku je použití a zacházení se zvířaty pro pokusné účely upraveno zákonem o ochraně zvířat proti týrání a dalšími předpisy.

Es ist kein Geheimnis, dass Tiere bei solchen Tests unglaublich leiden. Obwohl seit 2004 in der EU das Testen von Kosmetika an Tieren verboten ist, gibt es immer noch Tests für kosmetische Inhaltsstoffe, da die Europäische Chemikalienagentur ECHA Tests für die Registrierung einzelner chemischer Substanzen verlangt. Die Verwendung und der Umgang mit Tieren für Versuchszwecke werden durch das Gesetz Nr. 246/1992 über den Schutz von Tieren vor Misshandlung und die entsprechenden Verordnungen, das Gesetz Nr. 418/2012 über den Schutz von Tieren bei der Tötung, das Gesetz Nr. 419/2012 über den Schutz von Versuchstieren und das Gesetz Nr. 166/1999 über die tierärztliche Versorgung und die Änderung einiger damit zusammenhängender Gesetze teilweise geregelt.

Therefore, some organizations have formed the initiative "Za pokusy bez zvířat" (For experiments without animals) to gather 1 million signatures for the European Commission to address their demands. These demands include protecting and strengthening the ban on testing cosmetic products on animals, changing the EU regulation on chemicals to ensure the protection of human health and the environment without additional animal testing requirements, and modernizing science in the EU by gradually ending all animal testing before the end of the current electoral term. Die Ernährungs- und Landwirtschaftsorganisation der Vereinten Nationen stellt jedoch fest, dass die Marktnachfrage nach Thunfisch immer noch hoch ist und dass eine erhebliche Überkapazität der Thunfischfangflotten besteht. Many countries heavily rely on tuna resources for food security, economic development, employment, government revenue, livelihoods, culture, and recreation.

Over 7 million metric tons of tuna and tuna-like species are caught annually. These migratory tuna species represent 20 percent of the value of all marine catches and over 8 percent of all globally traded seafood. Given this information, we must recognize the crucial role of tuna in sustainable development of food security, economic opportunities, and people's livelihoods worldwide. Stopping overfishing is vital. However, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization notes that the market demand for tuna remains high and that there is still significant overcapacity in tuna fishing fleets.

Addressing the decline of tuna populations due to overfishing in the world's oceans emphasizes the crucial importance of effective implementation of the international legal framework, as reflected in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), widely known as UNCLOS, strengthened by the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries, the United Nations Fish Stocks Agreement, recommendations of its assessment conferences, annual resolutions of the General Assembly on sustainable fisheries, and other efforts by the international community at the global, regional, and national levels.

Currently, over 96 countries are involved in the protection and management of tuna, with an expenditure of nearly $10 billion. Some relevant FAO programs have started to yield positive results in reducing overfishing.

Some of the upcoming events include excursions to bird parks, bird watching trips, and a night nature walk. There will also be a special event on May 10th about the most common bird songs in spring, led by expert Ondřej Belfín. Česká společnost ornitologická každoročně pořádá akci Vítání ptačího zpěvu, která se koná na stovce míst po celé republice. Mezinárodní den lesních školek, který se koná 3. května, letos připadá na téma klidu, odpočinku a spánku. České lesní školky si pro rok 2023 zvolily téma "LESsnění", aby ukázaly, jak v lesních školkách probíhá odpočinek a spánek jako základní potřeba dětí. Osvěta veřejnosti a členům Asociace lesních mateřských škol bude součástí kampaně, která se zaměří na vyvracení mýtů spojených se spánkem a odpočinkem v lesních školkách. Es ist wichtig zu betonen, dass Kinder in angemessener Wärme und Trockenheit sind. Jedes Kind braucht Schlaf, und es liegt an den Erwachsenen, den Schlüssel zu finden, der dem Kind hilft, diese gesunde Gewohnheit zu entwickeln. Die Assoziation der Waldkindergärten besteht seit 10 Jahren und hat derzeit 150 Mitglieder. Das langfristige Ziel ist es, gute Bedingungen für die frühkindliche Bildung in der Natur das ganze Jahr über zu schaffen. Der erste Waldkindergarten wurde 1954 in Dänemark gegründet und hat sich seitdem in mehreren Ländern verbreitet.

Czech forest kindergartens have chosen the theme of "LESsnění" for 2023 to highlight the importance of rest and sleep for children's well-being. The day is often marked by open days at forest kindergartens, providing an opportunity to address any concerns or prejudices regarding children's sleep in this setting. Rest and sleep are essential for children's healthy development, and forest kindergartens provide unique sleeping arrangements such as sleeping bags, hammocks, and nests. The campaign will include raising awareness among parents and members of the Association of Forest Kindergartens, as well as addressing common myths and misconceptions about sleep and rest in forest kindergartens. The Association of Forest Kindergartens has been promoting outdoor education for preschool children for 10 years and currently has 150 members. Forest kindergartens have been established in several countries, including Denmark, France, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Slovenia, the United Kingdom, Romania, Italy, the United States, Turkey, Spain, Japan, China, Vietnam, Finland, Poland, Canada, and Germany.

Medzinárodný deň lesných škôlok, ktorý sa každoročne oslavuje 3. mája, je príležitosťou ukázať, aké pozitívne veci sa skrývajú za pojmom lesná škôlka. Tento rok je zameraný na tému klidu, odpočinku a spánku. Lesné škôlky majú pre rok 2023 zvolenú tému "LESsnění", aby ukázali, ako v lesných škôlkach prebieha odpočinok a spánok ako základná potreba detí. Osveta o spánku a odpočinku v lesných škôlkach je súčasťou kampane, ktorá sa zameriava na rodičov a členov Asociácie lesných materských škôl. Světový den oslů je oslavou odolnosti a významu oslů po celém světě. Oslům vděčíme za jejich tvrdou práci a přínos k rozvoji civilizace. Oslavou tohoto dne chceme upozornit na jejich trápení a podpořit organizace, které se starají o jejich pohodu.

Der Welt-Esel-Tag ist eine Hommage an eines der widerstandsfähigsten und angesehensten Tiere aus der Pferdefamilie. Im Laufe der Geschichte dienten Esel auf der ganzen Welt als Reittiere und Lastenträger in einigen der anspruchsvollsten Gelände und unter widrigen klimatischen Bedingungen, und das mit Stolz und Ausdauer. Es ist nicht überraschend, dass der Erfolg dieser Tiere teilweise auf ihren sturen Charakter zurückzuführen ist, und der Welt-Esel-Tag ehrt sie zusammen mit ihren möglicherweise lobenswerteren Eigenschaften.

Zwei Unterarten des Esels, der Somali- und der Nubier-Esel, wurden gemeinsam gezüchtet, um das zu produzieren, was wir als modernen Esel betrachten. Verfügbare Beweise deuten darauf hin, dass der Esel seit 4000 v. Chr. höchstwahrscheinlich in Nubien als vielseitigeres und widerstandsfähigeres Packtier als das Rind gearbeitet hat, das zu dieser Zeit verwendet wurde. The day was established by Raziq Ark, a scientist who noticed that donkeys were not being recognized for their efforts in improving people's lives worldwide. The best way to celebrate World Donkey Day is to learn about these incredible animals and the role they play in the world. Diese Technologien, die im Laufe der Jahrhunderte durch grundlegende Forschung über die Eigenschaften des Lichts entwickelt wurden, beginnend mit dem bahnbrechenden Werk von Ibn Al-Haytham "Kitab al-Manazir" (Buch der Optik) aus dem Jahr 1015 und fortgesetzt durch Einsteins Arbeit zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts, haben unsere Art zu denken über Zeit und Licht verändert.

The International Day of Light celebrates the role of light in science, culture, art, education, and sustainable development. It allows various sectors of society worldwide to engage in activities that demonstrate how science, technology, art, and culture can help achieve UNESCO's goals of building a peaceful society. The study of light has led to promising alternative energy sources, medical advancements in diagnostic technologies and treatments, high-speed internet, and many other discoveries that have revolutionized society and shaped our understanding of the universe. These technologies, developed over centuries of fundamental research on the properties of light, starting with Ibn Al-Haytham's seminal work "Kitab al-Manazir" (Book of Optics) published in 1015 and continuing with Einstein's work in the early 20th century, have changed the way we think about time and light.

Medzinárodný deň svetla oslavuje úlohu svetla vo vede, kultúre a umení, vzdelávaní a udržateľnom rozvoji a v takých rozmanitých oblastiach ako medicína, komunikácia a energetika. Oslava umožňuje rôznym sektorom spoločnosti na celom svete zapojiť sa do aktivít, ktoré demonštrujú, ako ved a technológia, umenie a kultúra môžu pomôcť dosiahnuť ciele UNESCO pri budovaní základov mierovej spoločnosti. Štúdium svetla viedlo k sľubným alternatívnym zdrojom energie, záchranným lekárskym pokrokom v diagnostických technológiách a liečebných postupoch, internetu s rýchlosťou svetla a mnohým ďalším objavom, ktoré spôsobili revolúciu vo spoločnosti a formovali naše chápanie vesmíru.
