22nd April
Earth Day
More than 50 years ago, on April 22, 1970, 20 million people gathered across the United States to demonstrate for a healthier environment. With the campaign, the protesters wanted to push for the adoption of new environmental protection laws and push these issues into the political debate. The campaign had an unprecedented response and resulted in the creation of Earth Day, which is celebrated around the world on April 22 every year as an international environmental holiday. Since 1990 also in the Czech Republic.
