It is important to raise awareness about manatees so that these fascinating animals can survive into the future.

Although they may not make it onto the list of cutest animals, there are enough manatee enthusiasts for Manatee Day to be celebrated. Manatee appreciation events usually take place in areas with large manatee populations, such as Florida, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
