February 27th
World NGO Day
Sometimes it's good to disconnect from the electronic world and engage with the real world. Experience nature, talk to people and live life without screens, at least for a short while.
World NGO Day is an international calendar day celebrated annually on February 27th. Its purpose is to inspire people to become more actively involved in non-governmental organizations (NGOs), charitable organizations, non-profit organizations (NPOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), and to promote greater symbiosis between NGOs and the public and private sectors. The universal concept of World NGO Day is to celebrate and commemorate various NGOs around the world and the people behind them. It is also a day for NGOs worldwide to exchange knowledge and experiences, educate individuals about NGOs and their impact, and honor and remember founders, employees, volunteers, members, and supporters of NGOs.
How to celebrate World NGO Day:
- Raise awareness by collaborating with local schools and universities to organize events for students to learn about the issues in NGOs or opportunities from local charitable organizations to international movements.
- Organize awareness-raising activities such as sharing news with the community through the internet, television, radio, news outlets, or local newspapers.
- Hold celebratory events to raise awareness and raise funds.
- Organize NGO exchange events to share experiences and ideas with others. Present the successes of NGOs through events or awards.
- Inspire people to consider a career in the third sector.
