European Biomethane Week
The first year of the European Biomethane Week "Countdown to 2030: from goals to action!" follows the European Biogas Conference, the main event of the European Biogas Association (EBA). This new concept counts on the support of the European Commission and presents the development of biogas in Europe.
The European Biomethane Week will offer many opportunities for engagement, gaining insights, and exploring the most relevant topics for the biogas industry. In addition to the main event in Brussels, various activities will take place in many European countries. Europe aims to deploy 35 billion cubic meters of biomethane by 2030, which will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen the EU's strategic energy and technological autonomy. Biomethane is the cheapest and most scalable form of renewable gas available today, providing long-term socio-economic and environmental benefits. The value chain of biogas actively works on developing this sector to contribute to EU's energy security. The European Biomethane Week will provide many opportunities for engagement, gaining insights, and exploring the most relevant topics for the biogas industry. The main event of the week will be a conference held in Brussels from October 24th to 26th, which will be a necessary event for producers, users, investors, and legislators involved in the deployment of biogas in Europe. The event will include a two-day European Biogas Conference, a photo exhibition, networking opportunities, an award ceremony, and practical visits to biogas production facilities. In the Czech Republic, an event will be held on October 25th at the Old Wastewater Treatment Plant in Prague, where the recently launched biogas project at the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant will be presented. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the project and enjoy food from local farmers operating biogas stations.
