World Food Day

World Food Day

The World Food Day was created based on the decision of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO, it was established on October 16, 1945, and a few decades later decided that on the anniversary of its establishment, we will start commemorating the World Food Day every year). What is its essence?

World Food Day, celebrated on October 16th each year, aims to raise awareness about food safety and the importance of ensuring access to nutritious food for all. It also highlights the commitment of countries to achieve Zero Hunger by 2030. Whether you are a farmer, a government representative, or someone willing to make a change, there are resources available to help you promote healthy eating and a Zero Hunger lifestyle. The Information Center for Food Safety provides verified and understandable information covering the entire food production chain, from the farm to the consumer. Additionally, the "Do You Know What You Eat" website offers answers to questions about the importance of nutrients for our health, the significance of healthy eating and physical activity, and current nutritional recommendations, among other topics.
