In July

Plastic free month

Plastic free month

July has been declared the global month without plastic. Plastics have a long life and therefore take a long time to decompose in nature. The enormous amount of waste occurring all over the world, including the oceans, is a big problem. However, the problem with plastics is much bigger - tiny particles of disintegrating plastic - so-called microplastics can be found absolutely everywhere today - in soil, water and in the bodies of animals and people.

Plastic Free July is a challenge that aims to reduce plastic consumption during the month of July. It encourages individuals to find alternative solutions that are often healthier and cheaper. Some tips to reduce plastic consumption include drinking tap water instead of bottled water, shopping without packaging or using larger containers, using reusable bags, avoiding wet wipes and mini portions, using a reusable cup for coffee, using natural hair accessories, using solid shampoos, using alternatives to disposable razors, using toothpaste tablets, using cloth diapers instead of disposable ones, using reusable bags for bread, avoiding plastic straws, recycling polystyrene, buying food and drinks in reusable containers, not collecting plastic caps, using recycling bins, and buying products made from recycled materials.
