November 26
World Sustainable Transport Day
Starting in 2023, November 26 is celebrated as the UN World Day for Sustainable Transport. At the heart of this initiative is the recognition of sustainable, low-emission and energy-efficient modes of transport as essential factors contributing to climate change mitigation and adaptation. In addition, these modes of transport play a vital role in meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.
The patron of the World Sustainable Transport Day is DHL Supply Chain - a leading global brand in the logistics industry and a leader in the field of sustainable transport solutions in the Czech Republic.
On May 16, 2023, the UN General Assembly declared November 26 as World Sustainable Transport Day, marking a significant step towards promoting cooperation in sustainable transport and advancing the global commitment under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Agreement, the New Urban Agenda, and the Political Declaration on Improving Global Road Safety. The resolution calls on member states, organizations, and civil society to observe this day through education and events aimed at raising awareness about sustainable transport.
