On May 16, 2023, the United Nations General Assembly declared November 26 as World Sustainable Transport Day. This decision aims to promote cooperation in sustainable transport and support the global commitment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Paris Agreement, the New Urban Agenda, and the Political Declaration on Enhancing Global Road Safety. The UN resolution calls on all member states, international and regional organizations, and civil society to commemorate World Sustainable Transport Day through education and events that raise public awareness of sustainable transport.
