November 26
World Sustainable Transport Day
Starting in 2023, November 26 is celebrated as the UN World Day for Sustainable Transport. At the heart of this initiative is the recognition of sustainable, low-emission and energy-efficient modes of transport as essential factors contributing to climate change mitigation and adaptation. In addition, these modes of transport play a vital role in meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.
DHL Supply Chain is a leading global brand in the logistics industry and is part of the DHL Group, which aims to achieve zero-emission logistics by 2050. DHL Supply Chain in the Czech Republic is a leader in sustainable transport solutions. Sustainability is not only a commitment for us, but also an everyday reality. Since 2019, we have been systematically developing eco-friendly solutions in transport and logistics. For example, we operate tractors powered by CNG, LNG and electricity. We use solar panels on vehicles and semi-trailers. Starting this year, we have been operating our LNG vehicles on bio-LNG and by the end of the year we plan to operate all diesel vehicles on the alternative fuel HVO (hydrogenated vegetable oil). This year, we also launched our own Gigaliner - a 25.5-meter truck combination powered by a fully electric tractor. We are proud to have become a partner of World Sustainable Transport Day again this year.
