November 26
World Sustainable Transport Day
Starting in 2023, November 26 is celebrated as the UN World Day for Sustainable Transport. At the heart of this initiative is the recognition of sustainable, low-emission and energy-efficient modes of transport as essential factors contributing to climate change mitigation and adaptation. In addition, these modes of transport play a vital role in meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.
DHL Supply Chain is a leading global brand in the logistics industry and is part of the DHL Group, which aims to achieve zero-emission logistics by 2050. DHL Supply Chain in the Czech Republic is a leader in sustainable transport solutions. Since 2019, it has been continuously introducing new eco-friendly solutions. 20% of our fleet consists of alternative fuel vehicles, which helps reduce CO2 emissions by 60 tons per year. Since 2019, we have put 2 CNG trucks into operation. We were the first to expand our fleet with 3 LNG trucks in 2020 and were the first to put the fully electric Volvo FL 42 truck into operation in early 2021. In 2020, we also installed 7 solar panels on vans and in 2021 another 10 panels on LNG/Diesel trucks. Another 18 LNG vehicles were put into operation in 2021 and 2022. We are testing electric tractors and the use of alternative fuels in full operation. We are a supporter of sustainable and ecological solutions, alternative fuels and digitalization, which is why we are a proud partner of the World Sustainable Transport Day.
